REQUIRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
o 2 years of business analytics work experience.
o May be required to work evenings to complete assigned tasks.
o Experience utilizing industry best practices for team collaboration, projects and version control;
o Intermediate SQL skills; using data centric tools; specializes in data management and interpretation;
o Experience using and building dashboards with tools such as Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Microsoft Business Intelligence, Visual Studio, or SQL Server Reporting Services;
o The ability to quickly develop and maintain collegial working relationships and successfully work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team;
o The flexibility to manage a large volume of work by organizing and prioritizing tasks to meet shifting priorities and deadlines; and
o A proven ability to exercise professionalism and discretion in working with confidential information.

PREFERRED SKILLS (RANK IN ORDER OF IMPORTANCE):
o Experience in the non-profit fundraising space;
o Familiarity with statistical algorithms such as linear and logistic regression, decision trees, neural networks, etc.;
o Have work experience in advancement, fundraising operations, higher education, non-profit organizations or other public entities; and
o Knowledge and work experience conducting forecasting models.
o Experience with an Enterprise CRM software and/or nonprofit donor systems;

BACHELOR’S DEGREE IN INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SYSTEMS OR RELATED FIELD.
Note: Years of experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.

SCOPE OF THE PROJECT:
Under limited supervision, on-site or virtual reporting to the Director of Data Analytics, the business analytics consultant is a member of the Data Analytics team to augment specialty services directly associated with the implementation of Blackbaud CRM.

DAILY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Use statistical methods to analyze fundraising data to identify statistical patterns and trends that generate actionable insights;
o Provide accurate forecasts that allow the business to make informed decisions;
o Perform analysis and interpretation of data that demonstrate fundraising outcomes, within specified timeframes and frequencies;
o Work collaboratively with business users, peers, and Line of Business (LOB) Managers through effective written communications and verbally to understand and translate reporting objectives and business requirements into technical specifications, report design and code.
o Document, design, develop, test and implement complex analysis, dashboards, extracts and other assigned solutions.
o Develop trend analysis reports that monitor key performance indicators and compares them to internal and external benchmarks;
o Assist Director to analyze report results with a focus on explaining changes, inconsistencies, and any patters that are identified;
o Serve as a technical and educational resource to the Data Analytics team on fundraising data and benchmarks, modeling, data acquisition and rapid analysis for insight generation; and
o Perform other duties as assigned or directed.
