Required Qualifications
• Knowledge of technical software testing processes -or- knowledge of court operations
• Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years related experience. -or- 4 years of applicable experience -or- ISTQB certification (or equivalent.)

Job duties include but are not limited to:
• Reading software requirements to develop testing and release plans.
• Writing and maintaining testing plans on a functional and systems level.
• Executing test plans to identify quality escapes.
• Maintain a systemic backlog of known quality issues.
• Understand and prioritize defects identified by end users.
• Meet regularly with team members to drive quality into the software.
• Create and maintain quality status reports.
• Help drive major releases to the finish line.

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
• Knowledge of common software testing processes including black box testing.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum
• Ability to analyze systems, recommend workflow adjustments and identify opportunities for business improvements.
• Ability to analyze business and softtware requirements.
• Ability to participate in implementations and prepare internal communications.
• Demonstrates effective organizational, multi-tasking, interpersonal and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of PC skills including word processing, spreadsheet and database applications.

The Software Tester is tasked with driving to higher quality software and user experience in our organization. The software tester will be responsible for systematic testing of our internal software packages during development cycles and in preparation for release. This individual will be integrated into our development teams and take a collaborative approach using Agile to identify testing needs, executing those tests and tracking quality improvement initiatives.
This position requires good writing skills and verbal skills–especially the ability to abstract software functionality into plain language testing plans. The individual should be familiar with industry standard testing practices and writing test plans. A working knowledge of the government applications and business practices would be beneficial, particularly related to the Courts.
