Minimum Requirements:
Years Skills/Experience
7 Cyber Security Network Engineer experience.
Certification Cisco Certified Network Professional Security (CCNP Security) certification required, and Palo Alto Networks Certified Security Administrators (PCNSA) certification preferred.

Preferences:
Years Skills/Experience
7 Minimum of five (5) years’ experience defining security configuration and operations standards for security systems and applications, including policy assessment and compliance tools, network security appliances, and host–based security systems. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience providing guidance for security activities in the system development life cycle (SDLC); performing work that required extensive communication with technical and management staff regarding implementation of new internet border technology.

DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES: Primary function will be to configure and implement a Cisco Firepower firewall as a border firewall replacement. Worker will also be expected to document the installation process and work with other departments to include Firewall Rules Committee Members Change Management governance members and users within the agency to test and validate the configuration and operation of the firewall.

The Department of Public Safety (DPS) requires the services of [1] Cyber Security Network Engineer II hereafter referred to as Worker, who meets the general qualification of Cyber Security Network Engineer II [Core] and the specifications outlined in this document for [Aaron Blackstone, Chief Information Security Officer].

DESCRIPTION OF JOB:
Workers primary function will be to configure and implement a Cisco Firepower NGFW as a border firewall replacement. Worker will also be expected to document the installation process and work with other departments users within the agency to test and validate the configuration and operation of the firewall. Firewall configuration will include multiple contexts as well as configuration and implementation of the Firepower NGIPS. Worker will be provided access to the Firepower Management Console (FMC) as well as the information needed for each context configuration. Worker will be expected to do a clean handoff once complete to include a how to guide for the day to day care and operation of the device and configuration.

WORKER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Ability to manage and prioritize responsibilities through the effective use of time management and organizational techniques. Must be able to apply analytical skills to improve performance of all security associated projects and initiatives. Ability to interact and communicate both written and verbally with the Business and technology representatives. Have capacity to communicate with both the Business and the Technology groups to effectively facilitate issues and requirements.
