Management Experience – developing and implements career paths which includes training and certifications for personnel Required 2 Years.

*******In the previous posting the City of Raleigh got a lot of highly technical candidates but none that met the management requirement. Please focus on submitting candidates that have strong team management experience and technical experience. The candidate will be managing a team of three network engineers. Candidates must have experience at a management level.

***If all goes well during the six month contract engagement the intention is to make this a full time position. All candidates submitted must be able to work in the USA without sponsorship. The salary for this position will be a maximum of $120,000.

Summary:
The Enterprise IT Network Manager position is responsible for overseeing the enterprise network environment and all related technologies within the city. This position is responsible for the development and management of the enterprise LAN, WAN, Optical Network, VOIP, and ISP’s. This position will manage and coordinate these activities to create a seamless networking services experience for the City of Raleigh. The Enterprise IT Network Manager is a direct report to the Chief Technology Officer for the City of Raleigh Information Technology Department.

The IT Department plays a major role in the City’s recognition for innovation. The department has recently won the following awards:

• 2019 IDC Smart Cities North America Award for Urban Planning and Land Use

Specific Responsibilities:
• Manages the City of Raleigh Enterprise IT Network team
o Personnel / salary reviews and approvals
o Performs annual reviews for all direct reports
o Develops and implements career paths which includes training and certifications for personnel
o Provides direction and coaching for the group staff
o Develops training and continuous improvement programs for the group staff
• Responsible for all City of Raleigh network equipment and technology including standards, design, refresh, and documentation.
• Ensures these devices are managed in terms of asset management and monitored proactively
• Responsible for negotiations, implementation, and management all software and hardware Service Level Agreements
o Ensures all support contracts, service level agreements and vendor contracts are properly negotiated budgeted, executed, and managed
o Assess and approves all end user technology hardware and software standards for the City of Raleigh
• Works with other groups within the IT Department and across the city to make sure our technology offering meets all customer needs
• Develops and maintains technical documentation for the enterprise network
• Gathers and implements new customer requirements in a manner that allows for growth and scale
• Ensures all network equipment is kept as proper SW version and security patch levels
• Effectively budgets and manages Enterprise Networking group projects and renewals
• Acts as escalation point for all network infrastructure issues

• Desired Certifications: Cisco CCNA/CCNP
