Description:

The Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) is seeking to fill a short term (approx. 12 month) contractor assignment to provide Computer Programming Services. The selected candidate must be able to demonstrate excellent software development skills a in a .NET environment and possess excellent communication and problem-solving skills. The candidate will assume a key technical role working closely with the development manager to deliver the solution and will report to the Program Consultant for the Medical Information Processing System (MIPS). 

Responsibilities & Duties:

•Working with project team and key stakeholders to help successfully development and implement a Medicaid EHR Incentive Payment System solution

•Leverage Microsoft .NET experience to ensure a successful solution delivery by designing and developing software to meet functional requirements

•Create web application software, a workflow solution, and external system interfaces following industry best practices and patterns•Unit test for their components

•Contribute to and follow software development standards

•Communicate effectively with other team members and project management

•Adhering to best practices in software building, release management, and developer testing including source code management (e.g., Subversion, CVS, Visual Source Safe), automated builds (e.g., make, nant, Cruise Control), bug/enhancement tracking, test driven development, and related best practices.
 
Required:

•Minimum 5 yrs of progressive, successful Microsoft .NET experience in a software development environment

•Solid .NET development skills in .NET 3.5 and 4 using a SQL Server database

•History of successful server software development

•Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

•Ability to design solutions, estimate level of effort, and implement designs

Preferred:

•Bachelor''s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering 

•Familiarity with web-based applications is preferred
