REQUIRED SKILLS:
1.4+ years of hands-on SharePoint architecture/design experience developing enterprise applications and web solutions using Microsoft .NET 3.5 technologies including ASP.NET, VB.NET, C# to include planning, prototyping, developing and deploying enterprise-wide MOSS 2007 web parts and applications. Proficiency in MS Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 object model/API and a thorough understanding of MS Office SharePoint Server 2007 and 2010 SDK is required. 3yrs Active Directory experience is needed and 5 years of SQL Server 2005/2008 experience is a must. Also Visual Studio.NET/SharePoint Designer and XML.
2.The candidate must have 4-6 years of experience with all phases of a project life cycle using SharePoint and Microsoft.NET technology; implementing in large Sharepoint farm environments. Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential ensuring the creation and implementation of functional and technical specifications, design documentation and program code. Experience with SharePoint permissioning, Kerberos and forms-based authentication and debugging skills.
PREFERRED SKILLS:
Knowledge of public education and South Carolina Department of Education's mission, programs and objectives as well as FERPA compliance is helpful.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specific responsibilities for the employee in this position include:
1.Complete the SharePoint/Data Warehouse data governance document (This document has been drafted but needs to be refined.)
2.Identify risks with associated strategies (as related to SLICE) identified for managing or mitigating risk.
3.Develop procedure for deploying development, changes and packages to the SharePoint solution and provide training for the SLICE development team.
4.Analyze and correct the following problems:
a.Correct Telerik webpart to allow drilldown to student level detail report and to pop open the student detail report (A report developed using SQL reporting services) once a student is selected.
b.Make MS PerformancePoint work with MS SharePoint 2010.
5.Document standards for future development of how to add users once Active Directory is in place. Assist web services with the design and development of the Single Sign-on solution to ensure SLICE is integrated into the Single Sign-on environment.
6.Develop standards for Application Analysts and Developers to follow:
a. Templates for formal documents
b. Checklists for development, unit and system testing and quality control
7.Provide a complete set of PowerSchool data elements in SLICE. (A partial set of PowerSchool data elements have been added to SLICE.)
8.Other general SharePoint responsibilities:
a.Write code and create deployment packages in support of SharePoint 2010 upgrades, migrations and custom application remediation.
b.Design, develop and distribute technical reusable .NET & C# web application components that interact with SharePoint and SharePoint web services.
c.Execute deployments of code and solutions on to target SharePoint 2010 farms and maintain and configure Microsoft SharePoint Portal Server application, including daily monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance analysis of the system.
d.Provide configuration, .NET, C#, and Web Services programming and maintenance support of user accounts and .NET Framework security as required within the SharePoint environment.
e.Ensure that software solutions are implemented in an efficient manner and ensure the satisfaction of the users by providing exceptional application technical support, by researching issues, and by problem solving.
f.Provide direction for resolving SharePoint architecture, development, deployment, and administration issues, as well as participate in the selection, acquisition, configuration and troubleshooting of packaged 3rd party solutions and components as they occur.
The employee in this position must have a solid understanding of the disciplines as they apply to the MOSS (Microsoft Office SharePoint Server) version 2010 platform; users and permissions, layout and master pages, site definitions and templates, content types, web parts, policies, document and records management, dash-boarding and business intelligence.
This person must be knowledgeable in most aspects of designing and constructing data architectures, operational data stores, data marts, enterprise wide data modeling and database design. Able to define data/information architecture standards, policies and procedures for the organization, structure, attributes and nomenclature of data elements, and able to apply accepted data content standards to technology projects.
