North Carolina Department of Technology Transportation (NCDITT) is seeking an expert level Java Developer/Application Programmer contractor for a 12 month engagement for application development and support for DMV’s International Registration Plan (IRP) and Liability Insurance Tracking Enforcement System (LITES). These applications are business critical applications and require development updates and changes as well as monitoring and auditing as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA). This role reports to the Web Applications Development Supervisor and collaborates with other Web Application developers and respective Business Owners and will be involved in the development of the Unified Registration System (URS) which will combine multiple registration processes, informaton technology systems and forms into a single, electronic online registration process saving time and money for the industry and FMCSA. This system also improves the ability for FMCSA to locate small and medium-sized private and exempt for-hire motor carriers for enforcement action as investigators will be able to work with designated process agents to locate and/or serve documents on hard-to-find motor carriers. This application programmer will be part of a team that is responsible for developing and implementing the changes required by FMCSA and for fulfiling the service requests from the Liability INsurance Unit. This position will be assigned to NHC Cubicle 095.
