The Department of Information Technology (DIT) serves as the Technology Center for the State of NC. Services that DIT provides reach a client base of state and local government agencies, as well as schools, colleges and universities.

The primary purpose of the State Automated Drivers License System (SADLS) is to provide technical direction and support for Department of Transportation (DOT), Division of Motor Vehicles (DMV) Driver License Section and Sections under Driver License Section supervision. This encompasses changes brought about as a result of re-engineering of client application area(s), state and/or federal statute changes, change to client’s business rules, DMV-IT organizational changes or changes in technology. The primary purpose of Information Technology (IT) is to provide the full spectrum of information processing services and support for information resource management in the Department of Transportation (DOT). These changes are managed, documented, and implemented by the SADLS application team.

The North Carolina Department of Information Technology – Transportation is seeking a Senior Level Developer/Programmer for the SADLS development team. This position is for Hearings Fees Phase 2 project. This is a senior level position that will be responsible work on all phases of the project but not limited to coding, testing etc. The position requires thorough knowledge of COBOL,CICS and DB2. The position also requires thorough knowledge of batch jobs utilizing JCL, Zeke and Endevor. The position requires the ability to handle the implementation of small to medium scale technical efforts and the ability to complete detailed technical documentation. The developer must also be able to effectively communicate, in verbal and written form, consult with the clients and other resources and resolve technical problems. This position also requires the developer to be self-motivated, able to manage multiple tasks, and can resolve or escalate issues to management in a timely fashion.
